Safety & Trust

A safe, supportive home for young AI creators.

Manitoba Learn is built for teenagers. Safety, respect, privacy and responsible AI use are not afterthoughts — they are the foundation of every class we run.

A safe online learning environment

All classes are delivered live online by an instructor in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Students learn in small cohorts so every young person is seen and supported.

Sessions take place over secure video conferencing. We never ask students to share personal details with classmates beyond their first name and the project they are working on.

Ethical AI principles

We teach students that AI is a powerful creative tool — and that with that power comes responsibility. Our AI ethics curriculum covers honesty, original work, copyright, bias, privacy, and the difference between using AI to learn and using AI to cheat.

Students are taught to disclose when AI was used, to respect other people's work, and to never generate harmful, deceptive or harassing content.

Parent communication

Parents and guardians receive a welcome email at enrollment, weekly progress notes during cohorts, advance notice of any schedule changes, and an open channel to hello@manitobalearn.com for any concern.

Student conduct expectations

Students are expected to be kind, focused and respectful. Bullying, harassment, hate speech, and disruptive behaviour are not tolerated. Our full expectations are described in the Student Online Conduct Policy.

Privacy awareness

We collect only the personal information we need to run our programs and we never sell student data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Moderation and supervision

An instructor or assistant is present for the entirety of every live class. Chat is monitored. Breakout rooms are supervised. If anything ever feels off, students and parents can report it directly to the founder.

Respectful online collaboration

Students collaborate on projects, give each other feedback, and celebrate each other's launches. We coach the kind of online conduct we want to see in the wider world: generous, curious and grounded.
